Little Jean

Little Jean is nested in the main stretch of restaurants in Double Bay, with a spacious modern decor. We dropped in on a weekend for a lazy brunch, and the menu was impressive offering a nice selection of brekkie choices as well as proper lunch.

Corned Beef & Brie 'Cubano' Sandwich, Fried Egg, Piparres, Aji Amarillo $18
When the sandwich arrived it looked amazing, the runny egg yolk was so lively as if it was talking. The corned beef was tasty and tender, paired with a peppery Aji Amarillo sauce.

Mixed Leaf, Bacon, Rye Crumb, Soft Egg, Parmesan Dressing $18
Suppl. Whole Baby Rainbow Trout (NSW), Lemon, Thyme $18
Loved the salad, the mixed leaves were fresh and crunchy with shaved parmesan on top. We love a little meat in our food and thought even a beautiful salad might not satisfy us fully, so we got a baby trout to 'meat' up the salad. Even though it was a baby trout, it was still reasonably big. The fish was cooked perfectly, the meat could fall off the bone easily. There was a nice spiced flavour to it, definitely a delish.

Hash Browns $4.5ea
These house made hash browns were interesting. The outer layer was cooked until golden brown, and the inside was filled with mashed potato and sweet corns. However, it wasn't exactly what we were looking for.
