Euro Bar and Restaurant
Knowing that bluff oysters in New Zealand were in season, we dropped by Euro with some friends for a post-lunch oyster feast. These little plump and juicy shellfish are raised in the cold clean waters of Foveaux Strait until they are mature enough for harvesting. Bluff oysters are in season from March to July.
We got a dozen of tempura oysters, and our friends got a dozen of natural.
Tempura NZ$48 / Natural NZ$36 |
According to our friends, the natural oysters were nice and fresh. The meaty flesh was creamy and carried a hint of ocean scent.
The tempura oysters were crispy on the outside while the inside was juicy and soft, the only downside was that the batter was a little thick and greasy.
Tropical | Strawberry mocktail NZ$10 each |
